The Business of Being Born

Did you ever stop to think about how cold and sterile childbirth is treated in this country? A baby starts out in the womb warm and protected. It’s quiet, dark, and peaceful.

Then, during labor the Mother is poked, prodded, and injected with drugs. She is ordered what to do and when to do it. She is told to ignore her body’s cues. The baby is ripped or cut from the womb out into a room filled with bright lights and loud noises. Home birth may not be the choice for everyone, but it is something well worth exploring.

Enter, The Business of Being Born.

The Business of Being Born

Executive Producer Ricki Lake along with Director Abby Epstien have created the documentary The Business of Being Born.

A chilling quote from the documentary:

“The United States has the second worst newborn death rate in the developed world.”

At this time there are limited screenings available in the US. Click HERE for information when the DVD will be available.
